VCCI, GITAM equip students with biz skills

Visakhapatnam: The Women's Wing of the Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has partnered with GITAM (deemed to be university) to organize a 10-week Student Training in Entrepreneurship and Management (STEAM) course.
A total of 31 students from grades 8 to 12, representing five different schools, participated in the program. The course helped the students develop a basic understanding of entrepreneurship of all the work that it entails.
The students discussed, debated and collaborated to come up with innovative business ideas and their prototypes during the 10 week course. Interactive sessions helped spark interesting ideas and solutions for real life problems from the unique perspective of the school children.
The valedictory ceremony of the STEAM course was conducted at the VCCI Hall on Saturday. Chief Innovation Officer of GITAM Krish Nannegadda, Prof. Balkumar Marthi, Dean, Venture Development Cell, GITAM, VCCI women's wing president Jeeja Valsraj, other VCCI members, VDC, GITAM coaches, students and their parents attended.
